I worked with a family this weekend who had asked the alcoholic to quit many times, set boundaries and kept to them. We went in and did the intervention and were successful.

Once again, I don’t think it was anything we did or didn’t do, I think it was just the fact that we were different faces and voices, who had been there, and could describe in detail the physiological processes associated with the disease of addiction.

I know that many people who read this are socially conscious. If you have a few dollars to donate, please make a small donation to your local non-profit detox center. Here in Portland, Oregon our local detox is Hooper Detox, down by the Rose Quarter. The staff at Hooper does an amazing job and saves lives on a daily basis.
